Aggreko has added three Tier 4 Final diesel generators built for remote Canadian work sites, offering 145 kW, 210 kW and 1200 kW capacities at 600V. The models will be available exclusively to Canadian contractors, the company said.

The units are CSA and UN31A compliant, meeting Canada's electrical and fuel regulations. Aggreko says they pair its latest generator technology with hardware configured for Canadian market and regulatory requirements, delivering low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications.

Onboard 600V on the largest unit

The 1200 kW model carries onboard 600V capability, which Aggreko says eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers. According to the company, direct 600V output reduces project complexity, improves cost-efficiency and removes potential points of failure — a particular advantage for large industrial loads where 600V is frequently required.

  • 145 kW and 210 kW: readily deployed canopy units aimed at immediate energy needs.
  • 1200 kW: positioned for large industrial loads, with direct 600V output.

A market the company calls central

Paul Nascimento, Aggreko's managing director for Canada, said tailoring the company's most advanced generators for Canadian customers underscores the importance of the market. He cited large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast, remote territories, alongside thriving construction and data centre sectors, as evidence of demand for engineered energy solutions that are powerful and precisely configured. The Canadian Tier 4 Final units are intended to meet that demand, he said.

The three models join an Aggreko Canadian fleet spanning 25 kW to 1200 kW, and the company says the additions further bolster that range. Through its network of Canadian service centres, Aggreko's energy experts work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events to deploy temporary power for a range of applications. Pricing and delivery timelines for the new units were not disclosed.

Emissions, noise and the data centre angle

All three generators are described as delivering fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements. Aggreko points in particular to Canada's expanding data centre industry: as provincial regulators look to limit how much power data centre operators draw from the grid, the company presents its Tier 4 Final generators as off-grid energy that keeps facilities operational while minimising disruption to communities.

For contractors, the practical distinction between the models is scale. The smaller canopy sets are framed as quick-deployment packages for site power, while the 1200 kW unit is aimed at heavy industrial demand where voltage matching would otherwise require extra equipment on site.
